About Body Talk Pilates

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and learn a little more about me and the services I provide

My name is Verity I am the owner of Body Talk Pilates Mat & Reformer

My passion for Pilates all started whilst being a dog groomer and dog trainer. After 13 years of lifting and twisting, my back began to suffer. I really loved the way Pilates made my body and mind feel afterwards and I started going to Pilates mat and reformer 3-4 times a week.

In 2024 I had a breast cancer scare, after recovering from surgery and getting the all clear, I decided to pursue my passion. I did extensive research into the right course for me and applied to become a Mat Pilates instructor level 3 with YMCA. I never approach things half heartedly and whilst already studying mat, I became certified as a Reformer instructor with a studio in the surrounding area. Since October 2025 and currently, teaching at Studio 39 in Polegate.

After major abdominal surgery at the start of the summer 2026, I decided to close my dog grooming business on a permit basis and have taken the plunge becoming a full time Pilates instructor, opening up my own home studio and I have recently joined the team teaching at The Pilate Boutique Heathfield and cover work at Lewes Reformer Studio.

I continued to gain knowledge and experience via workshops including fascia release, breathwork, Pilates Principles for pelvic floor organ prolapse, Lumbar Disc Prolapse and Hypermobility. To further my skills in as a Reformer Pilates instructor, I have done more Reformer training and I am instructor trained in STOTT Reformer Pilates, with plans to do the Advance STOTT training in the near future.

My classes center on moving with intention, control using breathwork, core engagement, applying the principles of Pilates, most importantly listen into your body, talking to your body and focus on your well being
